We’re unzipping the makeup pouches and purses of numerous women (and men) to find out what products they use on the daily. Get your shopping lists at the ready, let’s dive in.

“Hi, I’m Megan, the Editor of the very website that you’re perusing right now. My makeup tastes chop and change like the wind. Some days I’ll want nothing but taupe shadow on my eyelids, and on others I’ll be just in the mood for a bright orange lip. Within my everyday look, however, there’s always one thing that I can’t be without – winged eyeliner.
“A cat eye is my signature look. I’m pretty sure that I can count on one hand the amount of days that I’ve gone without a flick of liner on my eyes since I was 15. Something about eyeliner gives me so much more confidence and I really don’t feel like myself without it. It’s incredible how much drawing a simple black line along my upper lash line can do for my self esteem. People always say that makeup is like warpaint and I couldn’t agree more, as soon as I’ve drawn my wings and set down my eyeliner of choice on my dressing table I feel ready to tackle whatever the world wants to throw at me.”
“Currently, my base consists of the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint (£30) layered on top of the Too Faced Hangover Primer (£27). Don’t be deceived by the ‘Matte’ in the foundation’s name, it gives the skin a gorgeous satin finish and by midday it allows you
r skin’s natural oils to do their thing and get a little bit of dewiness going on. The SPF30 element of this product really appeals to me, as now we’re in March the sun is tending to shine just that little bit more and I’m passionate about protecting my skin from sun damage. Premature ageing? No thanks. My biggest beauty love at the moment is the bareMinerals Perfecting Face Brush (£24), this thing is so soft and blends foundation into the skin like a dream come true. I’m also really enjoying using the Hangover Primer, although I need to hold my breath when I apply the stuff. Too Faced, what part of ‘synthetic coconut scent’ sounded good to you? Gross smell aside, this stuff keeps my makeup in place and doesn’t include silicone so won’t make my skin erupt with dozens of spots.

“Although the NARS foundation is wonderful, it sadly doesn’t hide all of the bags and blemishes on my face. I love the iconic YSL Touche Eclat (£25) for adding radiance to the face – and the ‘I am not a morning person‘ limited edition packaging is just to die for. The Clarins Instant Light Concealer (£22) is the best multi-tasker I’ve ever found, it can cover a multitude of sins whilst still allowing the skin to breathe and look natural

“Brow-wise, I’m practically the conductor aboard the Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow (£15) bandwagon. This little pot truly did change my brow game forever. I apply it with the Anastasia #7 Brow Brush and Spooly (£14) then finish off with the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper (£5.99), which is the ultimate drugstore brow product coming in at just over a fiver.
“During Spring, I like to reach for pink-y champagne neutral tones. This year, I’m loving layering the Clinique Colour Pop Eyeshadow (£15) in Cream Pop over the Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in 177 (£23) for a delicate eye look that is more sheeny than shimmery. My current liner of choice is the Dolce and Gabbana Intense Liquid Eyeliner (£27), and I finish off my eyes by giving my lashes a good curl with the Shu Uemura Lash Curlers (£20) and then adding a couple of coats of the brilliant bargain that is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara (£7.99).

“To counteract the whole ‘football shaped, milk bottle coloured’ thing that my face has going on, I use the Zoeva Rose Golden Blush Palette (£13) to contour and The Body Shop Honey Bronzer (£13) to warm up my complexion.

“Charlotte Tilbury‘s Bitch Perfect (£23) and Very Victoria (£23) lipsticks are my perfect nude shades. The former has a slight sheen so allows your lips to look a little bit plumped and healthy, whereas the latter is basically a matte version of my natural lip colour and I am absolutely obsessed with it. Bold lip wise, I’m into the Too Faced Melted Chocolate Cherries (£19) which is a brown/red hybrid. It sounds gross, but looks chic AF.

“Lastly, no makeup bag would be complete without a couple of miscellaneous bits and bobs. I’m currently trying out the Beauty Blender Blotterazzi (£16), which is like a sponge blotting sheet. The hygiene side of it makes me feel a bit queasy so I’m washing the thing like mad, and I’m still yet to form an opinion about the product itself. The lip product currently rolling around at the bottom of my makeup bag is the Clinique Sweet Pot in Sweet Rose (£15). This nifty little guy has two separate compartments which house a lip balm and a lip scrub – perfect if you feel like you need to get a bit of lip exfoliation action in during your lunch hour. Finally, I tend to keep my signature scent of Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt (£85) with me at all times to freshen up throughout the day.”
